Before using

How should I check the Terms before reserving or purchasing?

A butler receiving guests inside the entrance door

Choose the service you will use

Confirm which applies: The Salon, The Studio, the Apprentice Butler Experience or the Online Shop.

Read the common Terms

Check the provisions common to all four services: the nature of the Manor, the presence of a butler, prohibited conduct, photography, liability and personal data.

Cross-check the individual provisions

Also read the service-specific conditions on the fee pages, cancellation policy, product pages and application screens.

Confirm date, numbers and content

For the attended services, give your preferred date and time, numbers up to six and content of use, and confirm the fees and the conditions under which preparation begins.

Ask about anything unclear

For matters you cannot settle before applying, such as the scope of publication of photographs, what the butler can provide, outings or changes, please use the enquiry form.

What the common Terms set out

  • The scope across the four services and the precedence of individual provisions
  • The nature of the Manor: the presence of a butler, keys, the bed and bringing food and drink
  • Common conditions for outings, reservations, payment, cancellation and membership hours
  • Requests to butlers, prohibited conduct, photography, damage and liability
  • Personal data, amendment of the Terms, and Japanese law as governing law

What to check in the individual provisions

  • Specific examples of when preparation begins for each service
  • Individual product prices, shipping, materials, dimensions and delivery times
  • Individual consultations on the commercial use of photographs
  • Whether a particular butler can accommodate a request for a given reservation
How to read

Which should I check first, the common Terms or the individual provisions?

Reading the Terms means first confirming on this page the undertakings common to the four services, then cross-checking the fee pages, cancellation policy, product pages and application screens of the service you will use. Where the individual provisions differ from these Terms, please refer to Article 1, under which the individual provisions prevail.

When enquiring, please state the service you will use, your preferred date and time, numbers and the provision you wish to check. For cancellations, the reservation date and the notice on when preparation begins; for photography, the purpose and any plan to publish; for outings, the time and destination. Setting these out makes it easier for us to point you to the relevant provision.

QCan I use the Manor unattended?
A

No. At least one butler remains in the Manor. No keys are handed over, and arrival, departure and locking are handled by the butler.

QIs the butler in the Manor while I use the bed?
A

Yes. The bed is a training fixture for bed-making in butler education, and may also be used for rest. The butler remains in the Manor throughout, and no keys are handed over.

QCan membership hours be carried over?
A

As a rule they lapse at the end of the month. Only hours for which the Association was unable to accept a reservation for its own reasons may be carried over, once, to the end of the following month.

QCan I cancel only part of a reservation?
A

Partial cancellations are not accepted. If you wish to change numbers, date, time or content, please check the provisions of the relevant service and enquire.

QIs a refund guaranteed if I cancel more than 30 days in advance?
A

A refund is made only where the butler has not yet been assigned and preparation has not begun. Once the butler is assigned or preparation has begun, 100% of the fee is charged even more than 30 days in advance.

QMay I publish photographs taken in the Manor?
A

Private photography is permitted under the butler's guidance. Commercial use, streaming, advertising use and the publication of photographs showing people require advance notice and the necessary consent.
