About The Salon
By appointment only, one party at a time. Within the Manor, your butler is always at hand.
About About The Salon
The Salon is time set aside for women: an antique manor in Odaiba, Tokyo, reserved for a single party, with a butler in attendance to serve you throughout your stay.
Beyond the door, everything is arranged for your party alone
At Queen's Butler, a private booking means that the eleven rooms set within 80.11 square metres are prepared for one party only, for the duration of your reservation. The dining room, the study, the fireplace room, the bedroom, the wardrobe, the gallery. You will pass no other guests, and the tone of conversation and the pace of movement follow only those in your company.
While you are within the Manor, your butler remains within it too. Please feel free to ring the silver bell on the table. Even before you call, we keep an eye on the tea and the lighting, yet when you wish for quiet, we keep our distance.
If you come alone, the study's leather armchair lets you savour the sound of turning pages. If there are two of you, you may sit facing one another in the dining room while the butler pours tea in the pauses of conversation. For a party of up to six, we arrange the chairs and the flow of movement so that everyone sits comfortably around the table or the theatre.

From your arrival to your departure, the butler connects five moments

Greeting you at the door
A Queen's Butler butler bows, confirms your name, and guides you inside the Manor.
Taking your coat and belongings
So that you may move freely through the house, we take your coat and larger belongings. We ask what you may need, so it can be handed to you at once.
Preparing the first cup
Having asked your preference, the butler prepares tea and your seat. There is no hurry; we settle the first moments and briefly discuss how you would like to spend the day.
Discussing the order of the day
Tea, the table, reading, the theatre, commemorative photographs: we match your wishes to the time remaining.
Remaining close by
When you wish to talk, we keep you company; when you wish for silence, we withdraw to where we do not intrude upon your view.

Before booking, you may confirm party size, dress and how keys are handled

Service beyond the Manor begins with a butler contract with your Buddy
Queen's Butler's Salon is time served within the Manor in Odaiba. The butler opens the door, prepares tea and lighting, and receives you amid the furnishings. Any preference as to the butler's gender, age or particular strengths may be discussed when booking.
A Buddy is the butler you come to choose as your own, having met several times. Naming a dedicated butler is a privilege of Silver membership and above. A butler contract with a Buddy you have grown fond of depends on the limited number of butlers able to undertake it, so we hear your wishes and confirm what is possible.
Time within the Manor is enjoyed together with the house and its furnishings; a butler contract nurtures a continuing relationship with a single butler. Knowing this difference makes it easier to see what you wish to discover on a first visit. We invite you to begin at the Manor, encounter the conversation and the manner, and take your time in judging the rapport.

Male and female butlers alike, each serving with their own sense of distance

Male butlers
A Queen's Butler butler attends to you with care in every bow, every door, every cup served and every pause in conversation.

Female butlers
Female butlers are also on our staff. The same bow, yet the calm of the voice and the pace at which the tea is carried differ with each butler.

Ways to spend your time
From eleven ways of passing the hours, such as afternoon tea, the table, relaxation and the theatre, find the setting your heart inclines to that day. You need not decide everything; choosing just one and consulting us is quite enough.
Read moreFor a first visit, we ask what you would like to do, how much you wish to talk, and whether it is an occasion
Your wishes for a first visit are not a finished plan, but a hint to the butler of what matters most to you at the Manor. Even a single line will do: "I would like to read by the fire", "I would like to celebrate a friend's anniversary quietly", "I would like to see the silver up close".
Please tell us frankly how much conversation you would like. Some wish to talk with the butler about the house, some prefer to be addressed only when necessary, some would like their position arranged when photographs are taken; a comfortable distance differs from person to person. The butler reads your expression after arrival and adjusts that distance accordingly.
An outing beyond the Manor is a way of spending a stay of four hours or more with the butler accompanying you. A butler contract with a Buddy is a separate relationship of continuing service at your home or elsewhere. Wishing to step outside does not, in itself, call for a butler contract.

QMay men visit?
The Salon is a house for women. For photography or meetings, we suggest The Studio; for those wishing to experience a butler's attire and manner, The Footman, our Apprentice Butler Experience.
QHow does this differ from a butler café?
The Manor is by appointment only and reserved for one party at a time, and while you are within the house your butler remains within it too. The Manor does not serve meals; you are welcome to bring your own food and drink.
QWill I feel awkward on my own?
At Queen's Butler you may spend your time quietly alone. When you wish to talk we keep you company; when you are absorbed in a book or a film we withdraw nearby, returning to your side when the silver bell is rung.
QMay I request a female butler?
Yes. Preferences as to gender, age and so on are taken when booking. Should availability not allow it, we will propose another butler or another date.
QHow many friends may I bring?
The regular daytime and evening slots accommodate up to six guests. For one or two, conversation with the butler is the heart of the visit; for larger parties, gathering around the dining room or the theatre suits well. The butler arranges the chairs and the order of movement to suit your number.
QIs there anything I should bring on a rainy day, or for a first visit?
Nothing in particular. The butler takes your umbrella and coat, and time within the Manor is untouched by the weather. Bring only what your plans require, such as food and drink or an outfit for photographs.
