About The Studio FAQ
The Studio FAQ gathers the answers first-time users most often need on shoots, attire, numbers, meetings and green rooms, pick-up, location work, food and drink, and booking. One Queen's Butler butler is in residence at the Manor, which accommodates up to six people including photographers and companions. Our male and female butlers attend you from opening the door to seeing you off.
Even on a first visit, telling us the purpose, numbers, attire and equipment is enough to prepare
Preparing to book does not mean drawing up a finished shooting plan; it means letting the butler know what you wish to do at the Manor. Tell us which use is closest — a shoot, a meeting, a green room, a location or a recording — together with your preferred date and time and the number of people in the Manor.
For shoots, we ask which rooms you wish to use, the cameras and lighting you will bring and how many costume changes. For meetings, the number of people and use of the 120-inch facilities; for green rooms, costumes and luggage; for locations, what will be brought in and the scenes within the Manor. Anything undecided may simply be marked as such.
The Manor is never let unattended. The butler remains in the room and handles the doors, furniture, suit of armour, hall clock, porcelain and silver. You may concentrate on your shoot or meeting and call on the butler whenever needed.

The butler's assistance included in a shoot
- One butler in residence in the room, attending you from reception to farewell
- Arranging doors, chairs, lighting and props to suit the composition and the schedule
- The butler handling the suit of armour, hall clock, porcelain and silver
- Adding white-gloved hands, the opening of doors and the drawing out of chairs to a scene
- Assisting with commemorative photographs on your own device, where possible
Please bring your own
- A professional photographer and hair and make-up
- Editing, storage and delivery of photo data
- Your costumes, products, props and equipment
- Meals themselves. Food and drink may be brought in
- Unattended use of the Manor and the handing over of keys
Sizes and the correct combination of butler attire are confirmed before booking
Daytime butler attire is a black morning coat
A white shirt with a plain black tie, a grey waistcoat and black-and-grey striped trousers. The butler adjusts collar, cuffs and hem, and guides you through standing, walking and bowing.

You may bring your own attire
Dresses, formal wear, costumes for a project — your own attire is welcome. Tell us the number of changes, the length of the garments and any precious accessories, and the butler will arrange the order of changing and shooting.

The day proceeds in five steps for shoots, meetings and locations
Welcome at the door
The butler bows, opens the door and takes rainwear, coats and luggage.
Checking what you have brought
Cameras, lighting, costumes, products, meeting papers and food and drink are given separate places, arranged by the butler where they will not obstruct the furnishings or the movement of up to six people.
Agreeing the order
We confirm the sequence, including the rooms to be used, changing, breaks and clearing away.
Beginning your use
The butler handles the furnishings and lighting, supporting the shoot, meeting, green room or recording.
Clearing away and checking for lost property
What you brought is gathered, the furnishings returned to their places, and anything left behind checked.
On rainy days and days with much equipment, the route is arranged from the entrance
Use on a rainy day means that, even if outdoor plans change, your shoot or meeting can continue using the Study, the Lounge, the dining room, the Bedroom and the double doors within the Manor. The butler takes rainwear and wet coats at the entrance and shows you places to set things where no drops reach costumes, equipment or furnishings.
Bringing equipment means telling us in advance about the cameras, lighting and audio devices you will use, so that they can be placed safely within the Manor. Please state the type, number, power needs and the room you wish to set up in. The butler protects the suit of armour, hall clock, porcelain and silver while keeping a passage clear for up to six people.
If you wish to shoot outdoors or need pick-up, please also tell us at booking whether you need it, the boarding location, the number of people and the luggage. Pick-up is in an Alphard driven by the butler, limited to return journeys between the Manor and five locations including Tokyo Teleport Station. Pick-up is a service that forms part of your plan. As there are days when the vehicle is unavailable, availability is confirmed when you book. Deciding in advance which scenes to prioritise indoors, with an eye to the weather and the day's plan, gives peace of mind.
Access and how to reach the Manor
QIs a photographer provided?
A professional photographer, editing and data delivery are not included in the basic plan. Please come with your own photographer or one you have arranged. The butler assists with commemorative photographs on your own device where possible, and prepares the scenes within the Manor.
QMay I bring cameras and lighting?
Yes. Please tell us the type and number of equipment, power needs and where you wish to set up when booking. The butler checks the furnishings and the movement of up to six people.
QI am worried the butler attire will not fit.
Please tell us your height, usual clothing size and shoe size when booking. As a guide: men around 160–185 cm, women around 150–160 cm, shoes 24.0–27.5 cm. Other sizes may also be discussed.
QHow many people, including children and photographers?
Up to six, including children, subjects, photographers, hair and make-up and companions. From the fifth person, ¥5,800 (incl. tax) per person is added.
QCan the Manor be used as a meeting room or event green room?
Meeting & Green Room is available for three hours at ¥44,800 or a half day of six hours at ¥78,800 (incl. tax), for up to six people. Wi-Fi, the 120-inch facilities, and the butler's reception and attendance in the room are arranged to suit your purpose.
QHow do we arrange pick-up and drop-off?
Pick-up is a service that forms part of your plan. As there are days when the vehicle is unavailable, availability is confirmed when you book. The butler drives a black Alphard, limited to return journeys between the Manor and Tokyo Teleport Station, Tokyo International Cruise Terminal Station, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Aqua City Odaiba and Decks Tokyo Beach. Please also tell us the number of people and the luggage.
About the attire
- Sizes and styles are limited. Before booking, please tell us your height and usual clothing size
- Please ask about sizes other than those listed
About using The Studio
- The manor is never let unattended. A butler is present for every booking, and keys are not handed over
- You are welcome to bring your own food and drink. We do not provide meals
- Please use the antique furnishings under the butler's guidance. The armour, hall clock, porcelain and silver are handled by the butler
- Please consult us in advance about loud sound or the use of naked flames
