About How It Works
How It Works describes the steps common to The Salon, The Studio and The Footman, from your first enquiry to your departure. We hear your wishes through the form, and a butler checks the details and availability before confirming your booking. On the day, a butler welcomes you at the entrance door. For the Online Shop, please see the purchase guide.
From enquiry to departure, the visit proceeds in five steps

Choose your purpose
Choose from The Salon, The Studio or The Footman. If you are unsure, simply write what you would like to do.
Enquire through the form
Tell us your preferred dates and times (up to three), the number of guests, your purpose, and any wishes for attire or a particular butler.
Read your butler's reply
A butler checks availability, who will attend you, attire and how the Manor will be used, replies by email, and confirms any further details needed.
Confirm your booking
Your booking is confirmed once date and time, number of guests, content, fee, timing of payment and what to bring have been agreed by both sides.
Arrive and enjoy your time
Come to the entrance door at your booked time. Your butler bows in welcome, takes your belongings and shows you to the room suited to the purpose of your day.
Before sending the form, there are three things to decide
An enquiry is not the submission of a finished plan; it is the beginning of shaping the day together with your butler. First consider three things: with whom and what you would like to do, your preferred date and time, and the number of guests. The finer details of how you spend the time, and which room, can be settled after your butler replies.
Offering up to three preferred dates and times makes it easier to check the availability of the Manor and its butlers. Services within the Manor are for parties of up to six. The Salon is for women only; male companions may not enter even as an escort. For The Studio and The Footman, please tell us the number of everyone who will enter the Manor.
A short phrase is enough to express your purpose: a quiet afternoon in The Salon, a photo session in The Studio, the wish to wear a morning coat. As we have both male and female butlers, you may state a preference for who attends you without giving a reason.
From booking to the day

What we ask when you book differs by service
| The Salon | Your preferred date and time, number of guests, how you wish to spend the time, any preference for a Buddy, and whether you wish to stay overnight. Visitor bookings are accepted from seven days in advance. |
|---|---|
| The Studio | The purpose (photography, meeting, green room, location), number of people, rooms you wish to use, whether butler attire is required, body measurements, and any equipment or items you will bring. |
| The Footman | In addition to date, time and numbers, we always ask your height, build and shoe size. Attire is available in limited sizes and styles. |
| Online Shop | Choose the item, variant, size and quantity on each product page. Please check the price and made-to-order conditions on the product page. |
| Food and drink | We do not serve meals. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink; if you plan to use the dining table, please tell us what you will bring in advance. |
| Chauffeured pick-up | A butler drives an Alphard to and from five locations only, including Tokyo Teleport Station. Pick-up is a service attached to your plan. There are days when the vehicle is unavailable, so we confirm at the time of booking. We ask the number of passengers (up to six), luggage and timing. |
What the confirmation email covers
- The date of your visit and the start and finish times
- The number of guests including yourself, and the purpose of the day
- The service, room, attire and any preparation required
- The fee, timing of payment and payment method
- Directions to 2-7-4 Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo
What is not settled on sending the form
- Sending the form alone does not confirm your booking
- Preferences for a butler or attire are answered after checking availability and stock
- We do not accept bookings to use the Manor unattended
- We do not serve meals; you are welcome to bring food and drink
- We do not accept parties of more than six in the Manor
On the day, your butler waits inside the entrance door
Your arrival is the moment you step through the entrance door at 2-7-4 Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo and into the time of the Manor. At your booked time a butler stands inside the door, confirms your name and bows. There is no need to learn a particular knock or greeting.
Your butler takes your coat and belongings and leads you along the gallery to the room for your day. First we briefly explain the finish time, how to call your butler, and a few points on handling the furnishings; then your butler withdraws to a distance suited to your purpose.
On rainy days, please take care on the way. If transport delays you, please contact the number given in your confirmation. Your butler will check the effect on the flow of your visit and the finish time, and discuss what can be done on the day.

QCan I book by telephone?
Bookings are taken through the form. This lets us keep a record of your preferred date and time, number of guests and purpose while a butler replies by email.
QIs my booking confirmed once I send the form?
Not at the point of sending. A butler checks the availability of the Manor, the butler and any attire, and the booking is confirmed once date, content and fee have been agreed by both sides.
QWhat if I cannot find a reply?
Please check your junk folder and the email address you entered. If you still cannot find it, please contact us again through the same form, noting the date you sent it.
QWhat should I bring on the day?
It depends on the service. For The Salon you may generally come empty-handed; for props, documents, your own attire, food and drink and so on, please prepare what you need with reference to your confirmation email.
QHow many people can visit?
Services within the Manor are for up to six. For photography or meetings, please tell us the total number of everyone who will enter the Manor.
QMay I request a female butler?
We have both male and female butlers. Please add your preference to the form, and we will reply after checking availability.
Your enquiry is answered by a butler who serves in the Manor
The butler who handles your booking is a butler of Queen's Butler, the general incorporated association that operates Queen's Butler. We have both male and female butlers, and they translate the purpose written on your form into the rooms, furnishings, attire and flow that the Manor will actually need.
The reply covers not only availability but also whatever is still missing to fulfil the purpose of your day. We never hurry the things you wish to decide yourself; we simply make clear what your butler needs to prepare first. From that exchange, your time at Queen's Butler begins.
