The cooking lesson with a butler is an experience in the Manor's kitchen where you cook with your own hands, accompanied by a butler. You bring the ingredients; our butler assists with preparation, passing tools, clearing and plating. What you make, you enjoy yourself. The Manor does not provide meals.
How does the time cooking with a butler begin?
A cooking experience is not only the finished dish. It is discussing what to make, laying out the ingredients, working with your hands and carrying the result to the table. The butler who greets you at the door checks the ingredients you have brought and asks what you have in mind for the day. There is no need to rush to begin.
You remain the one in charge. Our butler does not run ahead of you; he passes the tools you need, describes the next step briefly and keeps the space around you in order. When you hesitate, he thinks it through with you; when you are absorbed, he waits quietly. That sense of distance is part of how the butlers of Queen's Butler serve.
If the steps change midway, the butler does not press you for a result. He sets aside what comes next, lets you finish what is in hand and then rearranges the order. Waiting until you put a question into words, and answering briefly only when needed, is also a butler's duty.

Welcome at the door
Our butler bows to greet you and takes your belongings. Together you check the ingredients, separating what is needed at once from what comes later.
A consultation over tea
Tea is poured in the dining room while we confirm what you wish to make, how to proceed and how you would like to enjoy it. Please raise any questions at this point.
Preparing yourself and the tools
We move to the kitchen and you settle in. The butler gathers the tools you need and lays them out in the order that suits you.
Cooking with your own hands
Handle the ingredients and work through the steps at your pace. The butler passes tools, checks the sequence and tidies around you while remaining close at hand.
Choosing the plates and plating
Tableware is chosen to suit the finished dish. Where the Manor's porcelain or silver is used, the butler handles it and helps the dish look beautiful on the table.

- Explaining the order and use of the silver cutlery at the actual table
What the Manor does not undertake
- The Manor providing ingredients or serving a meal
- The butler cooking from start to finish in your place
- Ingredients or requests not discussed in advance

- Once we hear your plans, we will advise how the Manor can accommodate them
- If you have dietary concerns, please check the ingredients yourself and let us know in advance

- Time spent thinking over the ingredients, and the moment you notice a change in scent or colour, are never taken from you by the butler

The dining hour is not simply taking your seat once the cooking is done. It is one continuous scene that includes choosing the tableware, laying the silver and the opening of the double doors. The butler handles the Manor's furnishings and sets the table around what you have made. The Manor does not provide meals, but while you dine, the butler serves.
The dining room holds a yew table in the English manner, antique-gold candelabra and a silver bell. The porcelain and silver are not merely for display; the butler carries them to the actual table. White-gloved hands, the sound of a plate set down, the pouring of tea: all of it is the afterglow in which you savour what you have made.
After the meal, do not hurry to leave your seat; talk over how the day's dish turned out, with a cup of tea. The butler continues clearing while keeping a distance that does not interrupt. What went well, and what you would like to try next, become topics shared with the butler who spent the time with you.

We ask that you bring the ingredients yourself. As the Manor does not provide meals, please prepare what you need for your dish.
QCan I apply even if I am not used to cooking?
Yes, first-timers are welcome to consult us. We ask in advance what you wish to make and how, then confirm how the Manor can accommodate it and which butler can attend.
QWill the butler cook in my place?
The cooking is done by you. The butler assists by passing tools, confirming the steps, clearing and plating.
QWho eats what I have made?
You enjoy what you have made yourself. The butler arranges the tableware and the table, and pours your drinks.
QWhat if I have dietary concerns?
Please check the ingredients yourself and bring them with you. If there are points to consider in advance, such as the handling of utensils, please tell us in detail when booking.
QMay I request a female butler?
Both male and female butlers are with us; please state your preference when booking. As only a limited number of butlers can attend the cooking experience, we will confirm availability and advise you.
