About Overnight Stay Rates

The overnight stay rate covers a single night of 13 hours, from 8 pm to 9 am the next morning. Visitors pay ¥102,000 (tax included); the 13 hours are fixed and cannot be divided, and the stay is for one guest only. Members use 16 hours of their allowance. The Salon is for women only.

From the bow at 8 pm to farewell at 9 am, the butler keeps the door

An overnight stay does not mean using the Manor unattended at night. The butler remains in the Manor throughout, from welcoming you to seeing you off the next morning. A butler of the Queen's Butler Association, which runs Queen's Butler, attends to the door, the lights, your drinks, your rest in the bed and morning tea as one continuous duty.

The rate is fixed at 13 hours; no part of the night can be booked separately. On a day with an overnight stay, no ordinary evening slot is offered, and from 8 pm the whole Manor becomes your time alone. No key is handed over; keeping the door is the butler's work.

The butler bows at the double doors and takes your coat and luggage. We confirm your wishes for the evening and your departure time in the morning.

Evening tea

We show you to the Dining Room or the Fireplace Room and prepare your chosen cup and drink. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink.

Time in the Manor

Choose your scene from the Study, the Fireplace Room and the 120-inch theatre. The butler waits within reach, ready before being called.

00 pm — Behind the doors

The lights are lowered and the Manor settles into quiet.

Rest in the bed

The butler prepares the 19th-century French corbeille bed. No key is handed over; the butler keeps the door from within the Manor.

Bedchamber

Rest in a 19th-century French bed

Corbeille is French for a basket of flowers; the tall frame at head and foot enfolds the body. The butler prepares this bed of black silk damask, capitonné upholstery and a carved frame.

What to bring

Pack for two scenes: the night and the morning

As no meals are served, please bring whatever food and drink you need. If you have a great deal of luggage or fragile items, tell us at booking and the butler will arrange a place for them.

There is no dress code. If you wish to keep separate an outfit for photographs in the Manor and one for resting in the bed, the butler will guide you through the order in which to use the wardrobe. Both women and men serve as butlers here; we ask your preference at booking.

QIs it cheaper if I shorten the hours?

As the stay is fixed at 13 hours, there is no rate for a divided or partial period. We reserve 8 pm to 9 am as a single booking.

QCan two of us stay?

The overnight stay is for one guest only. If two or more of you would like to spend the evening together, please consider the evening slot until 11 pm.

QHow many hours do members use?

Members use 16 hours of their allowance. Please also check the number of visits and booking conditions for your membership tier.

QCan I be given a key?

No key is handed over. Keeping the door through the night, without leaving the Manor unattended, is part of the butler's duty.

QMay I bring food and drink?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own. As we do not serve meals, please bring whatever you need.

Practical check

For a peaceful night, we go through these points with you at booking

Arrival	So that we may receive you at the door at 8 pm, we ask how you will arrive and how much luggage you will bring. If you expect to be late, please let us know as soon as you can. The fixed 13 hours end at 9 am the next morning.
Food and drink for the evening	No meals are served. Please bring what you need and tell the butler how you would like it chilled or set on the table. Anything whose temperature or container we are unsure of, we check before handling.
Theatre	Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, U-NEXT, YouTube, ABEMA and Disney+ are available.
Garments	If you wish to keep separate what you rest in and what you wear the next morning, we ask in which order to place them in the wardrobe. Any item you would like laundered is taken into care after we confirm its fabric and handling, using the building's shared drum washer-dryer.
Morning tea	The evening before, we ask when you expect to rise and what you would like to drink. The butler does not raise the lights abruptly, and supports your morning by arranging your luggage and garments.
Rainy days	As the stay takes place entirely within the Manor, you may book regardless of the weather. We take your umbrella and wet coat at the door so that no drops are carried into the corridor or the Bedchamber.
